Grand Theft Auto "IV"

The trailer finally went up today, and the masses flooded to every outlet. The official Rockstar website is still pretty much unavailable, Game Trailers was overloaded for a good while, GameVideos was horribly slow, but is the place I finally ended up getting the download from. Considering how demand for the trailer crippled so many sites, I think it's safe to assume large sales.

All in all, I'm pretty pleased with what was shown. I've been hoping since the announcement that it wouldn't be more gangsta (not gangster, gangsters like GTA III and Vice City are fine by me) crap like San Andreas. I think this trailer pretty much confirms that you won't be playing in a similar setting to San Andreas. Personally I'm really interested to see what kind of story they have in store for us.

The overall graphics of the trailer were pretty pleasing, it looks like they've managed to update the series pretty well. I was pretty concerned that they wouldn't be able to bring it up to par in order to compete with the recent competitors like Saint's Row, Just Cause, and Crackdown. If you've played any of those games, then try to go back to the last-gen versions of the GTA games, you'll fully realize just how poorly they've aged.

Note that I put the "IV" in quotes, GTA III, GTA: Vice City (IV), GTA: San Andreas (V), and now GTA "IV" (VI), even ignoring the "Stories" side series, this is the sixth game in the main series.
